Trump says Iran war "close to over" amid hopes for more negotiations
Lumen Technologies (LUMN) announced it is the first network provider to collaborate with Amazon Web Services on AWS Interconnect – last mile, using Lumen Cloud Interconnect to provide private connectivity between enterprise locations and AWS.
The service allows enterprises to establish private connections from branch offices, data centers, or remote sites directly to AWS through the AWS Console and Lumen Connect portal. According to the company, this reduces deployment timelines from weeks to minutes and eliminates the need for multiple providers.
"Cloud and network infrastructure can no longer operate separately; modern applications demand they work as one," said Jim Fowler, Chief Technology and Product Officer at Lumen Technologies. "Cloud providers are increasingly integrating connectivity as a cloud service, and Lumen’s network enables that seamless experience."
The collaboration combines AWS cloud services with Lumen’s network infrastructure, which spans more than 340,000 route miles and connects thousands of enterprise locations and data centers. The service supports automated and on-demand connectivity with scalable bandwidth.
AWS Interconnect – last mile with Lumen Cloud Interconnect is now available to enterprise customers in the United States. Customers can initiate connections through AWS Console and Lumen Connect, and monitor availability, latency, and performance across their environments.
The companies indicate the service is designed for organizations that move large volumes of data, including those supporting generative AI, machine learning, data analytics, and real-time applications. Target industries include healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, and media.
